On a large 17 inch laptop display such as this one, 4k panel with higher pixel density, is noticeably sharper than its 1080 counter part. 266 PPI(4k) compared to 133 PPI (1080) Even normal web browsing, the fonts and edges are noticeably sharper and crisper. And this difference becomes even more glaringly obvious when viewing an actual 4k content. In a year 2021, when 4k contents are everywhere, you absolutely should not be recommending a 1080 pixels on a premium notebook unless you are specifically trying to maximize battery life which is a non issue for people that have access to a power plug during a work session. You are right about many things but I'm afraid I'll have to disagree with you on this one!
